"Leap...and the net will appear"
2015 was a year of change and risk, and some tears. It was so difficult to say goodbye to my incredible colleagues and my amazing students, but I knew it was time to leave. I knew that this was my time – my chance – my opportunity to try to make it on my own. I had my own practice for 4 years, but it really was “on the side” as I had a good paying job and just had a client or two after school or on the weekend. I knew that I HAD to try to make it as a private practitioner or I would always wonder. So…I leapt. And the “net” appeared. It appeared in the form of the unwavering support of my incredible family and friends. It appeared in the form of parents who found me and wanted my services for their child. It appeared in the form of other professionals who believed in me and referred their clients to me.
In my blog, I plan to share stories of my journey along with stories of success in therapy. This is a journey of discovery and continual learning. I am honored to be in a profession where I learn daily and I want to share my little “aha” moments with you. You just never know what may be relevant, meaningful, or significant to others. If nothing else, I hope what I share may touch you, move your, inspire you.
